Edward Onoja Receives Forum of Kogi West DGs

The Deputy Governor of Kogi State, Chief Edward David Onoja, on the 21st of January 2020, received in audience, Director Generals of the seven Local Government Areas of Kogi West for the November 16th 2019 Gubernatorial elections in Kogi State in his office, on a courtesy visit, on behalf of the Governor, His Excellency, Yahaya Bello.

Hon. Haruna Isa, the former member representing Koton-Karfe Federal Constituency at the Green Chamber and Lokoja LGA DG Campaign during the just concluded Gubernatorial election who spoke on behalf of the group, appreciated the New Direction government for the opportunity to serve, and praised the Governor of the State, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello and His Deputy for spearheading a government that put aside tribal and religious differences for the good of Kogi and her citizens.

He reiterated their readiness to continue serving in any designated role in the next four years.

Responding, the Deputy Governor commended them for their great work during the just concluded Gubernatorial and Senatorial elections in the region, which resulted in a massive victory in Five of the Seven LGAs in Kogi West and an effective replacement of the past Senator representing Kogi West, a critical win which he attributed to the doggedness of the people and their leadership in general, saving the state from monumental embarrassment which the former Senator constituted with his careless utterances in the past which hemorrhaged the image of the state.

He described Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello as a detribalized and religiously balanced leader, whom he said will always consider those capable of taking the State to the next level first without succumbing to bias.

This, he further explained, is evident in the culmination of previous factions which have been pulled into the Party structure, a greater unity amongst citizens and residents of the State, and a religious balance for the first time in 28 years, proof of which is the Chapel built in the Government House and equal distribution of positions in the administrative cabinet.

He encouraged them to keep faith with the government of Kogi State and her intentions to better the lives of future generations, and charged them to remain devout in serving the people whether in or out of office.
