The National Youth Council of Nigeria, Kogi East Zone, has congratulated the newly appointed Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development in the State, Hon. Idris Musa on his appointment to man the affairs of the immediate Youths Quarter in government.
Speaking in Ankpa, Comrade Pete Amodu, the Kogi East Zonal Chairman of the Council described the appointment of Hon. Idris Musa as a welcome development trusting He has the capacity to move the ministry forward in terms of youth and sports development.
He charged the Honourable Commissioner to operate an open door policy that will welcome young people and ideas in line with the blueprint of the New Direction government of His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello.
He further tasked the Commissioner to start with advocacy, reorientation and sensitisations against drug abuse and other social vices while engaging in sporting activities, skills acquisition, empowerment and capacity building too, in a bid to keep the youths engaged.
Comrade Pete Amodu used the opportunity of his congratulatory message to thank the Governor and his Deputy, Edward Onoja for their magnanimity at bringing up Youths to Leadership table rather than allow them wallow in negative exuberance.
Thereafter, the Zonal Chairman assured Hon. Idris Musa of robust support from the youth of the zone noting that they would collaborate in making him succeed and perform creditably.
