Following the execution of the MOU signed between the Kogi State Government and NNPC for the promotion and development of Sugarcane and Cassava plantations for the NNPC Automotive BIOFUELS programme.
The Kogi State State Government represented by the Chief of Staff; Pharm Abdulkareem Jamiu today recieved a team of Engineers from the NNPC Renewable Energy Division and thier Consultants.
The NNPC had awarded the contract of Land validation of the 15000 Hectares provided by the State government in Alape and Ike-Bunu respectively for Cassava and Sugarcane to fuel ethanol projects to reputable institutions which signals the commencement of the project which is expected to bring unwavering economic growth to the State. The COS assured NNPC team of the State Government’s unalloyed commitment to the Project.
The NNPC team lead Engr Danjuma Yakubu also reiterate the corporation’s full commitment to the project and wish for a favorable working relationship with the State while soliciting for utmost support from the state in provision of adequate security and other logistics for the smooth running of the project.
Kogi State will solidly stand out as a model for the project as it is the first among the 9 selected States to provide the needed infrastructures to kick – off the project which is expected to create over 100000 direct and indirect jobs when completed.
