The administration of His Excellency, Alhaji Idris Wada successfully built a beautiful Motor Park along Lokoja-Okene-Abuja Express way, adjascent to Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja. Unfortunately, he was unable to put this to use before the 2105 election sent him packing from Lugard House.
Painfully, I have always ruminated over the abandonment of this world class Motor Park by the incumbent administration of APC led government in the State. This, to me, is counter productive considering the amount of money, energy and time spent on the project and the fact that the State would have been able to successfully increase the IGR through this while at the same time providing employment opportunities for the citizens of the State.
Consequently, I cannot express the gravity of my joy and appreciations to Governor Yahaya Bello when I read from newspapers that he has given directive on the immediate movement of all commercial Buses to the Park. This simply means he is now thinking and working towards the economic survival of the State and If this is fully utilized, it will invariably help transportation to and from the State at the same time help to reduce kidnapping through “One Chance” syndrome in the country as all commercial vehicles leaving the park can be easily tracked in case of unexpected eventuality.
It is therefore my prayer that Kogi State Government will use this directive as a starting point to revive all abandoned projects in the State. If this tempo is maintained across every strata of this government, it will surely catapult the socio-economic advancement of Kogi State to an enviable height in Nigeria and beyond.
May Kogi State Survive.
