…Over 4000 Benefit As Sen. Dino Melaye Foundation Distribute Relief Materials Worth N10M Sen. Dino Melaye Foundation has distributed relief materials worth N10million to people affected by flood in Kogi and Lokoja LGA.

Sen. Melaye made the disclosure during the distribution by the foundation, assured the people affected by flood of the Foundation’s continued support, said if Government at all levels had done the needful, their plights would have been reduced.

Sen. Melaye while Speaking with Newsmen after visiting flood affected victims in Kogi and Lokoja LGAs, described the plights of victims affected by flood in the state as caused by the failure of Government in putting in place measures to mitigate the annual flooding of the River Niger and Benue..

The Former Senator who represented Kogi West Senatorial District in the 8th Senate, said with or without political appointment he would continue to lend his support to the vulnerable and People who are less privileged, says it is religious to always be your brothers keeper..

He said as a member of the Peoples
Democratic Party, the Party believed in meeting the needs of the people, described the flood that ravaged the areas this year as most unfortunate, says it behooves on well meaning citizens to come to the aid of victims.

Sen. Melaye described flood as a natural occurrence, but said with proactive measures in place, the plights of the people usually affected would have been mitigated and with reduced losses.

Senator Melaye said the gesture is his affection for the people whether in or out of office, promised to continue to give a helping hands to the people.

He said the gesture which cuts accross, has no Polical colouration, but out of his genuine love and compassion for a people devastated by flood, who have to a large extend loose there all, Particularly there means of livilihood.

Items presented by Sen. Dino Melaye Foundation to be over 4000 affected persons in the areas includes: Clothings, made up of wrappers and blankets, as well as bags of rice.

In a remarks Ahmodu Abdullahi Usman, speaking on behalf of the community that received the items, thanked the Senator Dino Melaye Foundation for coming to there aid, said the gesture is coming as a surprise from a man who no longer is in the Senate or in government.
