As the race to the vacant stool of Attah Igala hots up, front runner for the Stool, Prince Onuche Gabriel Opaluwa has called on the kingmakers to follow due process in accordance with the tradition in making their selection to ensure that the rightful person ascend the throne.

Prince Opaluwa warned that they should not make the mistake of choosing a wrong person to the throne as such error could spell doom of negative impact capable of throwing the kingdom into chaos.

Prince Opaluwa in a statement made available to Kogi State News in Lokoja, over the weekend, said the world is keenly watching as how the new Attah will emerge from amongst the contestants.

Prince Opaluwa said Coronation must be based according to the tradition of the kingdom and the laid down rules.

According to him “I am the bonafide heir to the throne of Attah Igala and I shall abide by the ethics and regulations of the Igala Area Traditional Council as well as modified Native and custom order of the Traditional Council in Kogi State”.

“I shall implore all necessary impetus to make Igala Kingdom great both within and among the comity of nations.”

Explaining why he is on the race against their uncles, Opaluwa said his joining the race was not to fight any one but to get what rightly belong to him disclosing that he and other contestants are blood relations saying that he sees the contest as a family affairs .

Prince Onuche Opaluwa is the son of late Ejeh of Ofu Local Government Area, Peter Adebo Opaluwa who hailed from Aju Ameacho Ruling Dynasty among the four ruling houses that qualify to produce Ata’Igala.

He said the battle for a new Attah Igala was as a result of the death of the immediate past Attah, Idakwo Michael Ameh Oboni II.

He said The Aju Ameacho Dynasty has stayed over 101 years without producing the Attah appealing to the government, the Kingmakers and other relevant stakeholders to consider him as the bonafide heir to the throne and install him on the throne since the tradition and customs of the land favoured him.
